UTTHAN 2023-24 – (STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math)

“ You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” – Clay P. Bedford

S.E.I.S. organized a STEAM Exhibition on 2nd March 2024. This exhibition was typically involved in showcasing projects and innovations in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) made by the students of S.E.I.S.

The main reason behind organizing the exhibition is to provide a platform to students where they can implement the various scientific theories/methods through various projects/models. In other words, a science exhibition is a platform where students can showcase how much they have understood the different scientific theories through their projects/models. It also helps to build the ability for teamwork and cooperation among students.

The students showcased their projects and working models in all the fields of STEAM but the main catch of the exhibition were the robotics projects and the Space Centre – Reflection of Light. As the exhibition started, various students presented their projects. Models of solar power energy, space satellites, hydroelectric generators, AC and DC motors, automatic transformers, and robots were built by the students. The parents, too, looked at the various models put up by the students. Apart from models, the students also organized visual presentations to help everyone understand the concepts of their working models.

Utthan enabled every student to understand that if someone really wants to do something, they will find a way to do it, even if there are things that make it hard to do.

Utthan – STEAM exhibition was a grand success. With a cheerful smile, our principal Ms. Julie Thomas acknowledged student’s efforts, fostering a supportive environment for academic excellence and innovation.

Holi Celebration

‘Let’s soak in the joy of Holi and create colourful memories!’

The most colourful and vibrant festival of India – Holi was celebrated with a splash of colours at SEIS. Holi is the festival that commemorates the victory of good over evil, brought about by the burning and destruction of the evil demon named Holika. So the spirit of Holi taught the students to follow good conduct in life and believe in the virtue of being truthful and honest. The festival marks the end of winter and the abundance of the

upcoming spring harvest season.

A special assembly was conducted at this event. A skit emphasizing the dos and don’ts to be followed in order to enjoy the festival of Holi was played by the students. They advised playing safe Holi by using natural colours instead of chemical colours. They reflected upon the wastage of water during the Holi celebration and pledged to play dry Holi instead.

The assembly ended on a note of high spirit and energy. The ambiance added to the festive spirit. It was a joyful celebration of Holi at school wherein everyone greeted each other with Holi wishes.

May the colours of Holi bring love, joy, and happiness to all.

Earth Hour Day

‘Earth provides sufficient to satisfy every man’s need, not every man’s greed’

In a bid to champion environmental awareness and sustainability, SE International School took bold strides by actively participating in ‘Earth Hour’ initiatives. The school orchestrated a powerful movement by encouraging students to switch off non-essential lights and electronics for an hour, symbolizing their commitment to conserving energy and reducing carbon footprints.

During this enlightening hour, classrooms transformed into havens of natural light, fostering an eco-friendly atmosphere that resonated with the spirit of Earth Hour. Students embraced the experience of life without electricity in classes and adapted their daily routines to minimize energy consumption.

This collective effort not only showcased the school’s dedication to environmental regulation but also instilled a deep sense of responsibility and care for the planet among students. It was a testament to the school community’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and leaving a positive impact on the world.

The resounding success of these initiatives echoes a powerful message: “Switch off, save the planet!”
